OBITUARY

Hector A. Cuevas, age 78, of Atmore, AL, passed away on September 19, 2025, in Pensacola, FL.

Hector was born on July 27, 1947, to Virgilio Cuevas Toledo and Amparo Roman in Utuado, Puerto Rico. He served in the United States Navy, on the USS Lexington and retired from ExxonMobil.

Hector was an avid horseman who appreciated God’s creation and what it had to offer. He was a simple man with few words who loved and was deeply proud of his family. To God be the glory!!

Hector is survived by his son, Tony (Pamela) Cuevas of Milton, FL; his daughter, Sherley Cuevas Ellis of Troy, AL; his special companion, Gay Kirton of Atmore, AL; his siblings, Angelo (Raquel) Cuevas, Faustino Cuevas, Juanita (Gene) Cuevas, Iris Cuevas, Ever Cuevas, and Virgilio Cuevas; his grandchildren, Nick, Selena, Eva, Eli, Suzanne, Chris, and Amanda along with a host of family and friends.

A memorial graveside service will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery at a later date.
