I-65’s southbound lanes reopened after vehicle crash, fire

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency officials said a few minutes ago that both southbound lanes of Interstate 65 are now open, with traffic flowing smoothly.

Earlier, state troopers reported a single-vehicle crash involving a vehicle that caught fire near the Poarch exit (Exit 54) led to closure of the right southbound lane, and later the closure of both southbound lanes of the interstate.

The crash occurred around 1:45 p.m., according to state troopers.

No further details were provided, as troopers continued their investigation into the crash.
