Although no details have yet been released, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) officials confirmed that state troopers are investigating a fatal accident that took place around 1 a.m. today (Tuesday, Aug. 5) on Alabama 21.

Unconfirmed reports are that the crash involved a passenger vehicle and a commercial vehicle (reportedly a 20-foot box truck). The passenger vehicle reportedly crossed the center line and slammed into the front of the truck.

The crash reportedly occurred near Ala. 21’s junction with Wayside Road.

A press release will be forthcoming after notification of next-of-kin and a report from troopers who worked the head-on collision, ALEA officials said.
