An Atmore man who was convicted here four years ago of shooting into an occupied vehicle, was turned down for parole during July 31 hearings of the Alabama Board of Pardons & Paroles.
According to Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) data, Labrandon Miquile Sharp is serving a 20-year sentence for “Other Class B felony.”
Published reports show that Sharp was arrested in 2018 after he fired several shots from a handgun into a vehicle parked along Montgomery Street. There were two adults and a 7-year-old child in the vehicle when he began firing.
With credit for the 942 days he spent in the Escambia County Detention Center while awaiting trial and transfer, he has served almost 7 years of his sentence.
ADOC records show Sharp, who is housed at Elba Community Work Center, has previously served two sentences in state custody. He did all of a 3-year term after a 2009 conviction for second-degree assault and spent two years in prison after his 2007 conviction for second-degree forgery.
Unless Sharp is granted parole or pardon, he will remain in prison until August 16, 2038.
