Rayford Earl Jeter, age 87, of Atmore, AL, passed away on September 6, 2025.

Rayford was born on July 9, 1938, to Floyd B. and Mable Ledkins Jeter in Bratt, FL. He was the co-founder of Atmore Carpets and Jeter Housing Rentals.

Rayford is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 65 years, Margaret M. Jeter; his brother, Charles Jeter; and his brother-in-law, Wayne Moring.

Rayford is survived by his sons, Tom Jeter of Atmore, AL, and Randy (Brenda) Jeter of LaGrange, GA; his daughters, Dianne (Robin) Baggett of Huxford, AL, and Linda (Gary) West of Atmore, AL; his brother, Vernon (Susan) Jeter of Bratt, FL; his sister-in-law, Marcella Moring; his grandchildren: Heather, Noah, Emma and Ava Baggett, Maranda, Raylin, Rye, and Rein Lambeth, Lilly English, Brian, Russell, Aaron, David and Laura Jeter along with a host of family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore, AL, with Bro. Gary West officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked for donations to be made to the Atmore Animal Shelter.
