Although state crime lab pathologists have not finished their work on a body found along U.S. 31 Wednesday, Baldwin County law enforcement officials believe they know whose body it is and how the person died.

The body is believed to be that of Roy Cleo Williams Jr. Officials said his ID was located near the body. Authorities believe the man was hit by a car.

He had earlier been reported missing by family members.

Lawmen were at first not able to determine whether the decomposed body was that of a male or a female.
