Pensacola men arrested for felony pot possession

Two Pensacola, Fla. men were arrested here July 30 on felony pot possession charges after their vehicle was stopped because its brake lights were not working. The pullover happened around 9:35 p.m., at an undisclosed location.

According to police reports, the officer who conducted the stop “noted the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle” as he talked with the driver, 41-year-old Christopher Lindsey, and the passenger, 43-year-old Jeremy Hamilton.

A probable-cause search resulted in the discovery of several dozen grams of marijuana and a small amount of cocaine, and both men were arrested.

Lindsey is charged with possession of a controlled substance, first-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hamilton is charged with first-degree possession of marijuana.

They were booked into Escambia County Detention Center (ECDC). Jail records show both were released from Jail July 31. Neither’s mugshot was posted to the ECDC website.
