Alabama Law Enforcement Agency officials reported minutes ago that a multi-vehicle crash involving a commercial vehicle has caused a lane closure on U.S. 31 in Escambia County.

The wreck occurred at approximately 12:44 p.m. today (Friday, Oct. 3) and led to closure of the highway’s northbound lane, near the 79-mile marker.

Reports are that the lane will remain closed “for an undetermined amount of time.”

State troopers are on-scene investigating and will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates accordingly.
