Nokomis Volunteer Fire Department’s Hannah Milliken (at left) was honored during tonight’s annual Escambia County Volunteer Firefighters Association dinner as Female Firefighter of the Year. NVFD’s Robert Grissett (center) was named the association’s Rookie Firefighter of the Year. Such recognition reportedly marks the first time the Nokomis unit has had two award-winners in one year.
